HEXACO is a personality model developed by Kibeom Lee and Michael Ashton (2004) based on large-scale lexical research across more than twelve languages. Where the Big Five identifies five dimensions, HEXACO adds a sixth: Honesty-Humility (the H-factor).

How does HEXACO differ from the Big Five?
HEXACO differs from the Big Five mainly by adding a sixth dimension and redefining a second. The Big Five (also known as the OCEAN model) identifies five dimensions: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism. This model dominated personality psychology for decades, but it has a blind spot.
HEXACO adds Honesty-Humility as a sixth factor.
